sofiaviolet: im in ur history, emphasizin ur poc (emphasizin ur poc)

Helped four statues and a balloon clown move house yesterday!

It went pretty well - in spite of having to make two trips, the Uhaul got returned on time. And Ellie came by with the Subaru Wonder Wagon for physical assistance (being a person of greater upper body strength than, say, my puny self), transportation of items smaller than mattresses, and the driving from A to B of the five cats.

Injuries sustained by me: cardboard rash on my palms and the insides of my arms, two parallel paper cuts on my left wrist, at least three separate bruises on my left knee. And of course my muscles are Not Pleased, but that is why we have pain relievers. Oh, and we dropped a dry sink on my foot heading down the stairs at the old place. Thank god for my boots, because although it hurt at the time, there's no evidence of it today.

Then I went to work today! Only for the remaining few hours I could earn actual money for, but still. Ow to slinging boxes of documents and photos after that.

And tonight we had Cid and Jason over for dinner. Alfredo sauce, ravioli, olive oil and bread.

I've kept this disguise up for as long as I could, but it's time to come clean. You guys are smart and you've figured me out. Well, not "me" specifically, but you know that someone's been watching all you fangirls. It's me - you never would have suspected me, right?

So, yeah. I'm absolutely not a nineteen year old college student in Boston.

That chick who met up with [livejournal.com profile] swallow_soma for tea? A paid fangirl (who really is a college student in Boston, but whatever).

My parents [livejournal.com profile] susanandleonard and my brother [livejournal.com profile] zachens? Sockpuppets.

• I wrote some J2 today. It's threatening to be a 'verse, or at least a series of connected bits of smut. *facepalm*

Each of these is geared toward people on my flist who watch and like Supernatural (or who would probably like it if they did watch it *cough*[livejournal.com profile] zachens*cough*) but aren't really fandom types.

Laugh I nearly died. by [livejournal.com profile] quellefromage

Author's summary: A special song follows the Winchesters through time.

This is a great look at the Winchesters as a family. I like Mary. Wee!chesters are a real favourite of mine, and this is adorable. Dean as a babysitter for the whole neighbourhood works so very well. And it really took me way, way too long to figure out where Mary got the songs from... not until the boys figured it out.

Don't Fear the Reaper: No, Really. by [livejournal.com profile] yo_gert

Author's summary: If Reapers could be said to have human emotion--which they would totally deny--then it would be fair to say that most of them dreaded The Gathering.

This is really Prachettesque. I swear there's a Discworld book with some scenes in it rather a lot like this fic. Dean has already escaped Reapers twice on the show, and this story just takes that and runs with it, all the way to the silly conclusion.

Red Beans and Rice by [livejournal.com profile] janissa11

No author's summary.

You just know that Dean did all the domestic stuff: the cooking and cleaning and mending and whatnot. John wouldn't think about it and at first Sam was too young, then too spoiled. So this is a story about Dean's culinary skills and how he acquired them. It's awesome just for that, but the fact that the two dishes holding the story together are red beans and rice and lasagna (and the search for John's mother's recipe) just is so very close to home. And the ending just rips my heart out.

My only nitpick is this (and my mother can correct me if I'm wrong and don't know how to cook): I've never heard of needing roux for red beans and rice. Never.
