sofiaviolet: welcome to bandom - no, you're not dreaming (bandom)

Yes, someone texted that to the bigass screens at the arena. Twice.

[livejournal.com profile] inkjunket posted her spare ticket, and I offered to buy it for [livejournal.com profile] zachens. But he had a lab and the person who commented before me took it, so it all worked out.

I took a train out to Lowell. In North Station, I noticed this chick with what looked like a yoga mat strapped to her backpack. Got off the train in Lowell, pulled out my Google map+directions, and started walking. I came to the end of the sidewalk and was peering down the hill trying to figure out what to do when someone came up behind me and asked if I was heading to the arena too.

It was yoga mat girl, aka [livejournal.com profile] joyfulseeker. Between my map and her sidewalk-finding skillz, we made good time, and she found fellow fangirls pretty close to the front of the line. Among them were [livejournal.com profile] giddygeek, [livejournal.com profile] quettaser, [livejournal.com profile] fayemeadows, and [livejournal.com profile] janet_carter.

I pulled out my phone to call [livejournal.com profile] janet_carter, who was giving me a ride to [livejournal.com profile] giddygeek's house after the show, and we were all quite amused when it was discovered that we were standing right next to each other.

When they opened the doors, we noticed that one line was way shorter, so we joined that one. Then we noticed the other line was shorter, so we went to that one. Then we saw that the other line was shorter again, and realized that we were the reason the lines were such different lengths. So we split up.

We couldn't tell if they weren't allowing cameras, so [livejournal.com profile] misspamela earned my undying gratitude for hiding mine under her jacket, because no way in hell do I have tits that can conceal anything. We found the seats [livejournal.com profile] joyfulseeker and [livejournal.com profile] gigantic had saved for us. The better part of two rows, on Pete's side of the stage, a couple of rows back. Basically perfect.

Doug was on first. He covered Dance, Dance and someone turned to me and said, "those are the actual words?" Then came Cute Is What We Aim For. Was really not into them. Also, the singer had this weird tic where he would move his right hand like he was jacking off, but against his right hip. I need to find a picture of him doing that and macro it - your doin it wrong.

I only knew one Plain White Ts song - NOT Hey There Delilah, oddly enough - but they were pretty good. Not really my thing, though.

Gym Class Heroes. OMFG. Unpopular fannish opinion time - I don't think Eric the Hot Bassist is that hot; he just doesn't do it for me. Travis is great onstage, and I liked all the stuff he said about parents. I probably should have concert called my mom then, but I didn't think about it. *fail* Patrick came out for Clothes Off! and he was literally fucking skipping around stage. I ♥ him so much.

Fall Out Boy. The footage they had up on the screen was, for the most part, pretty nifty but weird. I focused really hard on Patrick during I'm Like A Lawyer, because they were playing the video, which I still haven't managed to watch all the way through. Stuff like that - I can't cope, my vision greys out and I get woozy, and I didn't want that to happen in the middle of the show.

Joe Trohman is completely captivating. Total fucking rock star. ♥ Patrick was really rocking out. And even Pete was moving around a lot, despite the broken foot. He kind of hopped around. Pete and Joe also had some fun with the conveyor belts. I couldn't really see Andy, but I was a little concerned for him. Because. Pyrotechnics. They went off with a boom and I could feel the wave of heat to the extent that I know Andy must have been pretty uncomfortable.

I should have called Mom during Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner, but I forgot. *fail* Here's [livejournal.com profile] femmequixotic's video of it to make up for my epic fail. Although I'm pretty sure Mom's computer doesn't have speakers.

Everyone else has already posted about this, but. They played Mr. Brightsides. And Pete laid this big kiss on Patrick. We all saw it, and then we all turned to each other as if to ask, "did we really see that?" And then [livejournal.com profile] femmequixotic proudly declared that she caught it on tape.

Also, before he left the stage, Pete took his shirt off. \o/

I wanted a lolcat shirt so very badly, but they didn't have any. :( :( :(

Getting out was slow going. I stuck as close to [livejournal.com profile] janet_carter as I could manage. We were the first people to reach [livejournal.com profile] giddygeek's place, although Giddy herself got there about a minute later to let us in. Over the next some-quantity-of-time, we amassed about 20 fangirls in her living room. Mini-con FTW!

Giddy made us listen to this hilariously bad CD she got for free. It's like Kermit the Frog covering NIN.

We were all starving, so she called for pizza:
Giddy: I need to order three cheese pizzas.
pizza guy: Okay, how much are they?

***

*phone rings*
Giddy: Hello?
pizza guy: Did you just order some food?

We did get our pizza, though. And then we went over the show and watched most of LotMS - we skipped the sad parts about Gerard hitting rock bottom. And [livejournal.com profile] giddygeek pointed out something the rest of us had missed - right before Bob's section, there's some concert footage, and in the background, Ray and Frank kiss.

Around 3, we all gathered blankets and passed out on all the flat surfaces in the apartment.

Breakfast the next morning was pancakes and bacon, and then we watched B-Sides, which I own but hadn't ever got around to watching. And then we all took a very long time to get our things together and depart. Most people were heading to Connecticut for another FOB show, but [livejournal.com profile] inkjunket drove me back to Boston.

In conclusion: A+ would do again and again. Also, more fan gatherings kthnx.

ETA: my one not-blurry picture from GCH, my least blurry picture from FOB, and the sign, split into two parts (Patrick Stump stole our gay and LynZ gave it back).
