1. I am not a big fan of writing stories without a title in mind, but I really hate writing stories in untitled 'verses. I think I'm going to call this one "Happily Ever After" just so I have a way to refer to it. Kind of goofy, but then the characters are kind of goofy, too, and read way too many fairy tales. Also they are kind of an OTP of my heart.

2. Total word count for March: 28592. I'll be counting my words differently in April and thereafter, and will probably wind up with lower counts as a result. Means I'll have to work harder if I want to meet my goals.

3. But if I manage 25000 words every month for the rest of the year, except November (another stab at NaNo, yay!), I will write 300,000 words this year. Excluding January, because I don't have word counts for that month. And then I get to do it again in 2009.

4. I suppose I'm getting better at writing about characters who are very different from me. For instance, the couple whose philosophy on kids appears to be "we'll keep having them until we decide we have enough, or run out of money with which to provide for them, or run out of room in our home" and their neighbor, who occasionally has moments of "woe is me, they are my age! Why can't I find someone to be sappily in love with and make babies with??" and sometimes provides babysitting services.

5. That family is actually a very new bunch of characters, created in the past few days. (Sal seems to have that effect on character creation - shit, he needs friends from school, here are four of them; shit, he needs neighbors, here are between six and eight of them. Because, yeah, I know very little about them other than they are all very fond of each other, and one of the older kids is named Branden. He likes to ask awkward questions.) So now I'm wrangling with the details of the building they live in: so far, about all I know is it has a pool. Also trying to figure out why Sal's apartment has twice as much space as he actually needs, other than because it serves the plot.

Maybe Sal was originally expecting to have a roommate or something?

I know very little about these things.

Maybe his old roommate moved out because, um. There are lots of reasons someone would move out. I mean, there's job changes, moving in with a significant other, going back to school, etc.

SOUNDS GOOD.
