I had a nice nasty allergic reaction to something in my curry and wound up itchy as fuck and more or less unable to breathe in the middle of Chinatown. I freaked out a little - Dad was being awfully calm with the 911 operator and I screamed "anaphylactic shock!" a couple of times with what little air I could get into my lungs in the hope they'd send a fucking ambulance already.

I wound up in the hospital, more or less recovered within a couple of hours (although the fuckers kept me until nine and I was bored enough to whip out my computer and play umpteen games of solitaire and sudoku).

We have no idea what it was that I'm now horrendously allergic to. Possibly peanuts; they're made me puke in the past. Allergy tests when I go home at Christmas. I can has epi pen now.

ETA: They spelled my last name wrong, wtf.

o_O Yikes, that's awful! I'm glad you're okay, though.

And I hope they find out what caused it o.O;

You screaming "anaphylactic shock!" would be kind of funny if it wasn't a completely scary situation. Glad you're okay now!

That sounds like my peanut allergy. I either can't breathe or I itch and puke. *passes the epipen*

Well, you know, they were probably trying to make sure you wouldn't have any secondary shock. Boo on food allergies! :( :( :( I am glad you're okay. *hugs*

On the other hand, you now have, um, valuable first-hand experiential knowledge in case you ever need to write a story where someone goes into anaphylactic shock? Always look on the briiiight side of life, doo doo, etc.
