First entry on Dreamwidth.

It's been a pretty busy few days...
Stuff for making jewelry arrived Friday morning, but the gold and silver colored wire doesn't match the plated findings, so I have to send it back and invest in gold-filled and sterling wire. Friday night, I partied with my classmates from the poetry workshop. Saturday and Sunday were the Skillshare.
My poetry workshop may be over, but we the poets weren't quite ready to be done. We went to Ian's apartment for a night of shenanigans that involved part of a hockey game, a lot of Ian's other friends, and some poetry. I made a couple of pieces while everyone else was getting drunk - pendants. People thought it was a great idea to play with my pliers. We spent a lot of time just talking, but we did eventually read a bit of poetry (one of mine was called Rule 34, because I'm from the internet). Lauren gave everyone a ride home.
I staggered through the door around three in the morning and woke up pretty late on Saturday.
shadesong posted a link to the Skillshare on Facebook, and I checked out the workshops. Decided I wanted to go to Beaded Jewelry. I ran into Marietta from work, Abby from the first creative writing class I took at Northeastern, and Amos/
swallow_soma before finally finding the workshop.
It was a good workshop, and I came away with a lot of good ideas. Amos was in there, too, and I followed hir into Knitting With Recycled Materials even though I didn't know how to knit. I do now. :) I need to get some needles of my own.
I had missed Amos's workshop on Meaningful Consent because I slept so late, but ze gave me a copy of the handout.
I chatted with my parents for a little while, then nabbed some Popeyes and went home.
The only Sunday workshop I planned to go to was Name Changes, which Emilia/
pink_rainshower was co-facilitating. Although tailored to gender-related name changes, my process for "I don't like what my parents picked" would be pretty much the same.
I walked with the facilitators back to the main building, and we ran into Leeanne/
blacksambuca and some of her friends. I tagged along, figuring they were going to a workshop, but they were actually headed to deal with a workshop that wasn't supposed to be happening. (Hint: if you tell the Legal Counsel you're going to have a workshop that involves making porn, and they tell you not to, and you say you won't but do it anyway? Bad idea.)
After that, Leeanne waited around for Amos to be done with the workshop ze was in, and the rest of us went and got Indian food, hung out in Cambridge, then hung out in Dorchester.
I went home a little after ten and managed to get lost on my way back to Shawmut, so I called my parents and had them read directions to me over the phone. When I got home, I finished my work for my sociology class, then checked my email and found a Dreamwidth invite code.
And here I am.
