On Dreamwidth, and how to get an account.
Tuesday, April 28th, 2009 11:40Shiny factoid you might not have known: if you sign into Dreamwidth using your OpenID, then set and verify your email address, you'll get an invite code on the 30th. You can then use it yourself to make an account, or forward the invite email to someone else for their use.
Signing in with your OpenID will also allow you to test out most of Dreamwidth's features (though not posting, crossposting, or importing, sorry), which can help you decide what you want to do with your invite.
dw_codesharing will become active around open beta and could be another good place to get a code.
I will also have some invites to hand out come the 30th, but I have no clue how many.
***
I will continue to crosspost to LJ, with comments redirected to Dreamwidth.
So far I have been granting access and subscribing liberally; I expect my reading and access lists to shrink once I get some time to evaluate them. I also expect to put access filters into place eventually. I do not plan to use reading filters (though I'm pretty sure they're not available yet), ever.
I am making an effort to post publicly whenever possible, so that I don't need to concern myself too much with access or filters.
