When I say both out loud, it sounds better to me, too, although if I think about it, I can see why "she" is more grammatically correct. But I'm a bit more concerned with how something sounds than how correct it is, especially since I will be reading this out loud to the class - in fact, I would not be surprised if I said "her" even if I did make the suggested correction. I mean, other people have written their stories with almost no contractions and then used contractions when they read them to us.

I think I will poll my classmates on Friday.
