wrong place/right time ?

I was born in the right era, but somewhere there's a paralell universe where my mother did something else about library school, and things would be different if I lived that life. I think they might be better. Who knows?

More generally, I like living in modern times with computers and such, but I don't like living in New Orleans, which seems dreadfully not modern at all some days (and in a held-back way, not a conscious and respectful/fond of the past way).
