My creative writing professor and class will not appreciate it if my short story is about vampires: Y/N?

(I'm writing the story, even if I turn something else in for class. I even have a playlist for it: Blood Is Sweeter. Song recs appreciated, it's kind of a short playlist so far.)

Ya never know with writing classes. I started a fictional writing class once by getting into science fiction and my professor was... unthrilled. His idea of fictional writing was mainstream contemporary, a la Tim O'Brien, most notably. Class ended up sucking, but everyone else continued to worship the guy's ground. All I learned was how to rip off a couple different styles.

The class would probably appreciate it though, I'd guess.

Can't help much with playlists. Well, I could, but it would be total throwback.

Whatever I turn in will probably be set in Auriel, but there are plenty of things that happen there that could happen here. I just have the vampire story already started (as of about 15 minutes ago \o/).
