1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Went to Voodoo. Drove a car. Went to a school dance and had fun. Listened to music I like, not just music people around me say is cool.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't remember if I made any last year. I did make some this year; one is important and I intend to keep it.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Does my cousin's new wife who I haven't met count?

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Kay from across the street.

5. What countries did you visit in 2004?
None. Would have gone to Canada this summer, but my aunt and uncle lent their car to my cousin and were worried about taking his across the border.

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
A new computer. Sex. A credit card.

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
A few; they're all important for intangible reasons and I'll look pretentious if I try to explain.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
17000+ words in one month. Didn't achieve NaNoWriMo, but that's more than I've ever done. And I diversified my writing.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Picture a girl with her lips sewn shut. Yeah.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not so much, no. Other than what my uterus tried to do to me in New York, which I shan't elaborate on because there might be squeamish people reading.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
The NME, back in September. That was the start of several obsessions, both directly and indirectly.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My mother's. She is suddenly cool. WTF?

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
A lot of terrible drivers around here. I hope they all run into telephone poles and total their cars.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Jewelry.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Music, England, and my new school.

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out. AKA the song that set me on the road to a bunch of awesome people and other awesome music.

17. Compared to this time last year:
Happier or sadder? Happier. Liek woah.
Older or wiser? Wiser.
Thinner or Fatter? Fuck, I think I may have lost weight. Oops. Didn't mean to do that.
Richer or poorer? Richer, because my parents gave me a lot of money.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Made myself heard.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Acting like an idiot.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
With my family, same as any other Christmas. Everything else, from the weather to the gifts, was different, though.

21. How will you be spending New Years Eve?
Spent it on LJ.

22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
That's a question for 2005, now, isn't it? *waves at those who know*

23.What was your favourite TV programme?
CSI is good, but I'm usually in my room when it comes on. Heh. I really don't watch TV.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't think so.

26. What was the best book you read?
Ouch, hard one. Foucault's Pendulum, by Umberto Eco.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Anything since August, seriously.

28. What did you want and get?
Money. Friends. A new iPod to replace my old one.

29. What did you want and not get?
A new computer. A visa to go and live in England.

30. What was your favorite film(s) of this year?
Haha, the crazy one(s) my brother and his friends made.

31. What did you do on your birthday?
Fuck, I can't remember that! It was last January.

32. What would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Actually using some of the scathing retorts I think of and then don't say.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Rings and other jewelry, yay! I started wearing skirts again. I used to only wear dresses when I was a kid, then I'd only wear jeans. Now I can wear everything. Except those gauchos, WTF? I suppose there has to be some WTF?-type clothes every season or the fashion industry implodes.

34. What kept you sane?
No, I'm trying to jettison the last of my sanity, not retain it.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I try not to make a habit of lusting after famous people. But I did, despite my best efforts. Mostly in the latter third of the year, which might tell you something about who these people were.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Gay marriage.

37 and 38 deleted. He should know who he is. No, not that boy. He doesn't even read my LJ.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
Lying doesn't fucking work.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
No.
