There are at least two networks other than ours which my computer picks up on. We can't actually use one of those; we can only see it. The other other network doesn't seem to be set up to share anyone's internet connection; I've never had net access when I accidentally connect to that one instead of ours.
Pretty much, he's on the right network because he can get the internet. I think him not being able to do anything else network-ish may come from how secure he's made the network. *shrugs* It's not my problem.
