Working in uni archives FTW! I did that for several years, and it really helped me figure out what I want to be doing with my life.
Unsolicited comment is unsolicited, but could you do a case study to narrow the focus down to 30 pages from a monograph? Finding a good case study is sometimes difficult, but I find them a lot of fun to read and write when they work out. (Well, I find them for to write around the middle-slump of "will this just end.")
