Ellie is apparently making duck gumbo for Thanksgiving because A) fuck turkey anyway and B) we will be feeding probably more people than a single roast duck would satisfy.

Boston - specifically Jamaica Plain. Ellie and I moved here from East Boston (we lived near the airport) and have wound up with a much nicer and larger apartment, a more pleasant neighborhood, and a far less sucky commute.

As it says in my profile, I am:
Overenthusiastic undergrad. I really really love college, okay guys? I am not in class right now (yay co-op), but I will be back in the classroom this spring. I am trying to avoid classes this summer so I can visit my parents.
Historian-in-training. My major, let me show you it. My future MA, let me show you it.
Apprentice archivist. I am currently working in an archives full-time; I've been working here for almost a year and a half in various paid capacities and I'll be volunteering early next semester to finish processing this collection I have been assigned.

Yeah, not so much. My first relationship was abusive, so I am kind of stunted or whatever. (I do not need *hugs* although I won't turn them down, and you can ask questions.) I would not say no to a girlfriend or the right kind of boyfriend (the higher up the food chain of hegemonic masculinty you are, the less I want to date you) but I am too lazy and introverted to find one.

Lol no. Being childfree was helpful to my survival during the abusive relationship, although I've relaxed about it since then.
7. brothers/sisters
I have a sister! Her name is Ellie and she is also my roommate. She is trans, which is not a big deal unless A) you have known me for a long time and remember the existence of a brother, or B) you wind up meeting Ellie in meatspace. One day I will get around to un-privating some of my imported entries, and I will retcon her pronouns.

Sadly, no. Ellie and I have allergies of doom and I am barely able to take care of myself most days.
9. 3-5 biggest things going on right now
1) Work - archives stuff. I actually have job squee a lot of the time, or job lulz.
2) Crafts - I make jewelry and will be setting up my etsy shop some time in early 2010, when I have time again. I also paint. I also also will be teaching myself how to knit and crochet.
3) Shows - I don't blog about this stuff nearly enough, but it is a lot of what I do with my time. I go to concerts, generally in short bursts of several shows in a fortnight. I also go to a lot of local productions: dance, burlesque, queer performance art, comedy, &c.
10. parents
My parents met on a blind date, during Mardi Gras. They have been together for 30+ years (closer to 40, though I forget the exact number). They still live in New Orleans. We don't see each other enough.
