A friend of mine just found out she had cancer. When her partner of 15 years found out something similar a few years ago, my friend wasn't even allowed to come to the hospital to visit her during treatment--and now she's awaiting the same thing. I've been crying for the last half hour, and reading your post made me feel like there might be a touch of hope for society.
