Saturday

Jamaica Plain library book sale!!!! I convinced Ellie to come with, and she drove. A good thing, since we bought a fair few books. Plus, she found me several that are somewhat related to my research. :) In exchange, I brought to her attention a Kate Bornstein book she didn't already own.

We spent some time hanging out with Cameryn. She's taking her one-woman plays, Phone Whore and slut (r)evolution, on tour. I also promised to put her in touch with people in Grand Forks to see if she could set something up there (since she'll be passing through anyway).

I cut out of that social engagement early to walk over to Stonybrook Fine Arts for a ring-making workshop. I retain the majority of the metalworking skills I learned in high school! Plus I have two nice rings now - hammered copper and shiny sterling with my initials on the inside. Size 4, because I have tinyhands.

And then I went on up to Cambridge to see slut (r)evolution at 10:30. Afterwards, there were post-show pancakes at Victoria's and I somehow wound up participating in a long conversation about weddings.

Sunday

Woke up late. Considering I didn't get home until 2:30, I think that's reasonable. Hauled myself over to Davis for Top Shelf Flea, and stopped at Goodwill and Buffalo Exchange on my way back. I am now the proud owner of a Simmons College coffee mug, for which I paid ninety cents.

Monday

Worked all day, Battletech all night. Actually, only until 11, which is a pretty early finish (at least within my current sample of three sessions).

Tuesday and Wednesday

Tired.

streamlining my closet

I have decided that my wardrobe must be decimated.

In the original sense of the word, that is. One of every ten things must go. This has many advantages:

* I get to say "decimate" a lot.
* It's a large enough goal to accomplish something (like getting my t-shirts back into a drawer)...
* ... but small enough that I will be able to work quickly.
* Because I am not agonizing over tough choices, I won't be tempted to ignore my quota.
* Since I'm dealing with batches of ten [skirts/tops/underpants/etc], I don't have to pull EVERYTHING out of the closet all at once.

I wish you strength for carrying out the decimation.

I'll be looking forward to hearing about how your training for the speaking is going. Always sending good thoughts your way for that.

I don't think I could decimate my wardrobe (I could maybe throw away half of it), but I totally approve of your project.

Ooh, Grand Forks, ND? I know a few people there, including a theater person, and my sister knows a ton. If you let me know when/if that's happening, I could let people on FB know.
