I would post about Reggie...

... but there's no way I would be coherent. Suffice to say, I had a fucking amazing time, both nights.

I am liking my job so far, although I need to get them to schedule me for some more hours. So far, I have checked one collection against its finding aid (some stuff missing, and two extra things not listed), interfiled stuff in boxes of negatives (holy shit are those heavy; somebody is supposed to move that whole collection into smaller boxes, and it may fall to me), and helped hunt through another collection for two missing folders (not found).

Japanese Pop Culture: My professor is adorable. Something about her face reminds me a bit of my grandmother, even though a) my grandma was not Japanese and b) she is a lot younger. IDK. Assignments include panel discussion and research project, which does not have to take the form of a paper. I think I may make a website, for the practice. Some dude asked if he could make a video game.

History Seminar/Writing: Theme of the course is Colonial Stuff. I am :| about that. Wish I'd been able to take it last spring, when they had a Natural Disasters section. Professor is cool, though, and working on something about how different spiritual beliefs interacted as a result of imperialism, which sounds really interesting.

Fiction Workshop: Two short stories + one revision, or two chapters + one revision + synopsis. We are being strongly encouraged to start novels. I will use my idea for NaNo, and just aim for 50000 words of it during November - fudging the rules some, but whatever. A few of the other students are total n00bs, but there's someone who has also done NaNo. Professor likes Hemingway, DNW.

Women's Studies: IDK yet. Class isn't until 1:35. Suspect I will be able to pwn everyone else in discussions.

japanese pop culture sounds like a fun class! what does it entail, exactly?

My undergraduate reading course was on the differences between the US reaction to slave religious beliefs and the Latin American colonies reaction to the same. It was very cool. Santeria! Voodoo!
