Recently

Minor plumbing disaster yesterday. Ellie thought it'd be a great idea to clean the sink and shower drains because they were a bit slow. Assorted methods later, the sink was even more functional than when we moved in, but she had entirely clogged the bathtub.

One trip to Home Depot (for a snake and the kind of Drano that makes total strangers stop in the aisle and say, "dang, that's the good stuff!") (plus a side trip to Target for ALL the Hello Kitty crap and some flashlights) later, Ellie figured out how to remove the stopper apparatus, got the snake down there, and pulled out the clog, which consisted entirely of hair (entire family sheds worse than cats, I swear to god) that had formed a 12+ inch dreadlock in the drainpipe.

On the bright side, no Drano necessary.

You should be grateful I am not posting a picture. (Yes, Ellie made me photograph this clog like a fishing trophy, and she posted it to FetLife.) Edit: Okay, saved it off FetLife, uploaded it to my own site, and am linking.

I hate removing hair clogs, *cries*. If you post the picture, I hope I'll be strong enough not to click on the cut :o/
