So today at work I am checking the contents of a very large number of 3.5" floppies. Some of them were used in Macs but can be read by the PC I'm using. I can tell because the Mac system files are visible: DESKTOP, RESOURCE.FRK, FINDER, etc.
The disk I'm currently evaluating? Two of the hidden Mac system files claim to be last modified on March 17th, 2034.

I got rid of my last floppies a couple of years ago. I thought I'd already done so but then I discovered a box full of never used floppies at the bottom of the big cardboard box where I keep all computer stuff that I'm not using. (I really ought to get rid of all those old scsi cables! And how many 1.5 meter (5 feet) USB cables do one person really need?! :-)

I would just be copying all the files to our network drive, but we also have three large image&document scanning projects going on at the moment, and there was no space on the network drives anyway. Since we do still have the hardware for the 3.5" disks, we'll have to keep them.
