Went to the mall yesterday, wheee. I felt the need to get out of the house, and Mom had sent me some money for Easter.

Acquired:
* belts! I want my pants to stay up.
* socks! Because I like them to match my shirt.
* comfy office-casual and office-super-casual tops!
* sequin-covered mini dress! Because I felt horrifically under-dressed at the Slutcracker cast party and foresee other events like it in my future.

Today, I have been cleaning out my closet. Sofia's rules of closet-cleaning:
1. If it doesn't fit, it goes. You have not changed sizes for several years now, and no matter how many mozzarella sticks you eat, you will probably not gain weight. Likewise, if it didn't fit over your hipbones when it showed up in the mail, it will not magically do so in the future.
2. If you have a lot of the same type of thing, you should pare down the collection. No one needs that many jackets.
3. If you try it on and then lol at yourself in the mirror, it needs to go.

Results: one-quarter of closet and some random stuff hanging around = one hamper's worth of discards. \o/

Well, in the event that I need to dress as a waitress at a mid-price American chain restaurant, I'd be set. XD

One of the things I love about living where I do is that socks are rarely needed during the day. I am trying to imagine the matching of socks to office-super-casual tops, too.

By basic color, mainly - so I'll wear purple socks with a purple top and not worry about whether the purples themselves match.

Where I work, office-super-casual is dark jeans in good repair and a minimally offensive t-shirt. So, not that different from my 'meh, class, need clothes' outfits.

Likewise, if it didn't fit over your hipbones when it showed up in the mail, it will not magically do so in the future.

LOL. I need a note to appear on dressing room mirrors: "Have you seen your gigantic, muscular, super-hot upper-arm muscles, and also your tits? They will not shrink to allow you to fit into this jacket/shirt/dress. Buy the next size up."

On the other hand, I believe everyone needs that many jackets. *g*

I have to give up on things when I can't get them over my head without wrenching my shoulders. :\ And for tits, my problem is either "oops, where'd they go?" or "pass me the stickytape, plz."

It's not necessarily the sheer number of jackets, just that I have two that fit the same fairly specific category.

Yay, shopping for clothes that fit! I need to do that. My clothes that fit are falling apart.

Booo. But new clothes are good.

No one needs that many jackets.

I'm sure Gerard would disagree strongly with this ;-D

Yeah, he would. (Unlike Gerard, my clothes don't disintegrate on my body, which means I have arguably less need than him.)
