*thud* Ow. Good thing I have a thick skull, I guess.

I have this awful faily habit of leaving my phone on silent when I'm not in class, so I missed Ellie's texts and calls that work was deserted and she was coming home early. She got back to our apartment and explained the plan, I threw on some clothes and printed out our shopping list from the Ikea website, and we were out the door just after three. We listened to Lady Gaga on the way to Stoughton, because we are just that awesome.

I realized in the car that I'd left the shopping list at home, oops. But as most of the stuff on it was either really obviously stuff we needed, or stuff I would have picked up anyway just wandering through the store, I didn't actually forget anything important.

I got the bed, assorted household goods, some shelves, two table legs, and two cabinet doors from As-Is. (The legs go on the larger door, which will be attached to the lower half of my bed and become a table. The smaller door will be bracketed onto the upper bunk so I have a place to put my glasses.)

Ellie got a few kitchen items, and an eight-foot solid beech countertop. (Workbench top, for future woodworking shenanigans.)

We left Ikea right around closing time, after strapping the hundred-pound countertop to the Subaru's roof rack. We had to put the bed inside the car, and I had to sit behind Ellie because package 1 (of 2) stretched from the hatch to the windshield. When we got home, Ellie opened package 1 and we took its contents inside piece by piece; we were too tired to deal with it otherwise.

On Saturday, we put together the bed. It definitely required two people to assemble. It is also taller than I remembered. I have to be careful coming up the ladder, and sitting up in bed. I foresee a lot of *thud* Ow. :( in the next couple of weeks.

We attempted to attend a roller derby event that evening, but it was sold out by the time we got there. :(
