acquisitions

* Lavender products from BARCC, via [livejournal.com profile] shadesong,
* cards from Outside the Lines Studio, Veronique Latimer, and Ilee Papergoods,
* a gift bow made from a measuring tape,
* and purple handpainted yarn from Traveling Rhinos.

Relatedly, what might be a good project for 2 100-gram skeins of fingering-weight yarn? Not socks, though, because I am really really hard on socks and this yarn is too pretty to get beat up like that.

Gloves! (Here, I recommend Laris Designs.) A small lace scarf! (I recommend Anne Hanson's Little Nothings.)

Earlier this semester, I made several pair of these:
http://www.whatifknits.com/?p=4 (scroll down about 1/4 way for the pattern)

and this hat:
http://www.whatifknits.com/?cat=30 (scroll down about half way).

Each pattern takes up about 1 skein, and I have been extremely satisfied with the results of both. :]

The Yarn Harlot has a nice little cowl pattern up on Ravelry called Pretty Thing, and it takes less than 200 yards of fingering weight.
