Relatedly, what might be a good project for 2 100-gram skeins of fingering-weight yarn? Not socks, though, because I am really really hard on socks and this yarn is too pretty to get beat up like that.

Gloves! (Here, I recommend Laris Designs.) A small lace scarf! (I recommend Anne Hanson's Little Nothings.)

That's what I was considering. (I wear fingerless gloves unless it's too cold, and sometimes even then. Know any good patterns for that?)

Earlier this semester, I made several pair of these:

Each pattern takes up about 1 skein, and I have been extremely satisfied with the results of both. :]

It's going to take me forever to get around to it, though. I don't have the right needles yet, and I need to actually learn to knit - well, to start and finish things. I can do the in-between part just fine. :)

The Yarn Harlot has a nice little cowl pattern up on Ravelry called Pretty Thing, and it takes less than 200 yards of fingering weight.
