charmian: more notifications problems at LJ?

Currently there's a notifications problem at LJ, which apparently has something to do with a third party [EDIT: possibly Spamhaus]. People are getting fairly upset about it in the comments of the news post (well, also because of the banner color scheme).

Also, LJ is currently blacklisted with Spamhaus.

azurelunatic: Spamhaus and LJ

LJ has been listed by Spamhaus, which has likely got a decent amount to do with the notifications some people aren't getting. I propose a plan of action for users to help the Abuse Prevention Team squish as many spammerbots as humanly possible.

three_weeks_for_dw is ramping up for another round, beginning on April 25th. Planning of activities is currently in progress.

unclutter is devoted to getting rid of one thing per day and one thing per new thing. (Kind of high traffic, but a really great way to clean sustainably.)

dw_meetups is usually pretty quiet, but if you are interested in hanging out with other Dreamwidth users, you should subscribe in case someone plans a meetup in your area (and/or plan a meetup yourself!).

Recently

Tuesday, I came home early because my uterus attacked. After some tylenol, I was fine for a night out with friends: TOMB! Me, Ellie, Mark, Spider, Jordan, James, Gillis, Liam, and Tommy Toxic, with Cid as our guide. Lots of fun. :)

We tried to get dinner afterwards, but apparently everything near Fenway Park that serves booze becomes 21+ during Red Sox games or something? IDEK. We went to Vic's instead, which I personally consider a much better choice.

Yeah, I know. But getting used to the full-time job has been really rough this time around. IDK.

Recently

Work was fun today. In that special way where my eyes aren't used to contacts yet and I spent the whole day using a computer, and also in the way where one of the door alarms was going off pretty much all day because it was broken.

I was supposed to go to a concert tonight, but I just could not manage it. :( I napped instead. After I write this post, I'm going to go back to bed.

Retail Therapy

I ordered some stuff from Fire Mountain Gems over the weekend, and it shipped today. \o/ So that'll be here next Monday, approximately. Unfortunately, I can't bring my travel jewelry kit to Grand Forks. I don't think the TSA would approve of my pliers. :( :( :( Plus I am only bringing a carry-on. DNW to pay stupid fee for checked bag.

oh make me over

In my enthusiasm for this whole enterprise, I'll be continuing the daily link roundups. I never thought I'd be that kind of blogger, but I seem to have developed the habit, even before I was doing a specific kind of link-gathering. But while link-collecting is a useful service, I also want to be making other posts, especially in the context of three_weeks_for_dw.

One thing I'd like to do is provide a new song every day!

Within the first week this song was on my ipod, it went straight to the top of the most-played list. It remains in the number one spot, with almost three times as many plays as the next song down.

blnchflr has asked me to write about unreliable narrators, although this will take a few days. (I shake my fist at the end of the semester.) I am still accepting prompts, questions, et cetera, via comment/pm/email/carrier pigeon.

So my parents read my DW and I just friended my dad on facebook. But if I want them to see my tweets, how would you recommend I do that? (Keeping in mind that they do not want twitter accounts and my mom doesn't understand RSS at all.)
