Meh. Gonna take the lj-strike time and get some more writing done. My output tanked after spring break. Well, tomorrow I'm going to write. Tonight I have to do an assignment for linguistics. Last of its kind, yay, and it shouldn't be very hard. I just don't really feel like working on it.

In the future, I'll probably be updating through my wordpress blogs The Love Letter Sessions and Auriel, but since they're both configured to crosspost here, you shouldn't see much difference.

ETA: Also. Database software that: is free, will work on a Mac, and doesn't take mad skillz. And by software I really mean mysql clients, because I have successfully installed mysql, but I cannot figure out where to go from here. /o\

I transcribed about half an hour of conversation between myself and my brother at the beginning of the semester, and this week I have to talk about interruptions.

that sounds exacttly like an assignment my friend just did for his language and gender class :) he found he interrupted less than his two female interlocutors, but it's because he was talking more.

I tried to interrupt Hugh twice as often, but he had a better success rate - 70% to just over 50%. We didn't have to figure out who was talking more, and there's not a glaring discrepancy that I can see just flipping through my transcript.
